Opengear Monitor is a powerful system that centrally monitors your network of distributed console servers and their managed devices. This enables you to identify and resolve IT infrastructure problems before they affect critical business processes.

Opengear Monitor delivers secure remote access and control

Opengear Monitor has the popular open source Nagios at its core. Nagios is preinstalled in 1RU CMS6100 hardware appliance. So there’s no additional hardware cost, nor time wasted with set up. The CMS6100 can monitor and manage up to 255 distributed console servers with more than 1000 managed hosts/services.

Alerts are raised in the event of a disconnect or problem being identified at the remote site so the sysadmin /network manager can quickly respond. To remedy identified problems the manager simply clicks on their browser on the Monitor web UI. They are then securely connected to the downstream console server or managed device for maintenance, reconfiguration or power cycling.

Opengear Monitor is specifically designed to work with networks which have Opengear console servers installed .... a central computer room with a hundred racks of gear to manage, or a similar number of remote offices, each with Opengear ACM5000, IM4200 or CM4000 console servers deployed. Drop in the Opengear Monitor appliance and point it to all the console servers. Secure SSH tunnels are automatically set up and the configuration for each console server’s managed devices, users and alerts is downloaded. No time wasted reconfiguring. Realistically you can have central monitoring up and running in an hour.

Like all Opengear solutions, the CMS6100 Monitor is open and extensible. The core Nagios software is familiar to many system managers, so it can be custom configured and extended with the thousands of Nagios add-ons.
